Directions: Located on the west end of Puerto Rico, Desecheo lies approximately 45 minutes by boat due west of Rincon. Desecheo is only accessible by boat and is both above and below the surface is protected. For Charters to Desecheyo contact Tony and Brenda at www.technicaldivingpr.com for rates and information.

Recommendations: If you are planning to fly into Puerto Rico you have two options. If you fly into San Juan you will have to rent a car and drive the 2 hours west. There is a solution, most major airlines fly into Aquadilla/Borinquen, PR and the prices are almost the same. Prior to arrival contact us or Tony and Brenda at Puerto Rico Technical Divers for more information. This side of the island offers the best beach diving opportunities ( PR is limited ). The west end provides the most relaxed and laid back atmosphere on the island. Not only great for diving this side of the island has some of the best surfing in the Caribbean.

Conditions: Temperatures vary from 80F to 85F so bring your shorty and your sunblock.

Level of experience: Any level.

Visibility: Incredible!

Entry and Exits: Being protected, humans are restricted to setting foot on Desecheo, Boat diving is your only option.

Recommended Shop: Without a doubt call us Puerto Rico Technical divers. They offer a full service shop for every diver. From Open water to full re breather support Tony and Brenda have it all..

Wild Life: Monkeys! That's right the island has a group of wild "un friendly" monkeys. While on the boat you might see them so look to the trees. In the water you'll find incredible corals, Barracuda, yellow fin, reef fish and even the occasional shark.

Comments:
If you are in Puerto Rico and have the opportunity I wouldn't miss out on this dive. So close to the Big Island you wouldn't believe how incredible it is. A secret for most locals it is very accessible by charter to anyone in town for a day that wants to dive. Costs can range from $75 to $120. The entire island is surrounded by dive sites, you wont be disappointed. Send us an email if you have any questions.
